Cherry tomatoes - packed full of flavour and nutrition - range in size from thumb size to golf ball size. They are round and red with glossy skins. Tomatoes originated in Central and South America, and have been cultivated by Mexicans for over 2,000 years.

Tarts: Halve cherry tomatoes and use to garnish the top of puff pastry tarts or quiches before baking.

Pasta: Roast whole and slightly squash with the back of a fork, then add to cooked pasta.

How to store
Keep tomatoes at room temperature until ripened. Store ripe tomatoes in the fridge and bring to room temperature before using.
