Kumato® tomatoes are super versatile with different ideal usages at each stage - from a firm slicing tomato, through to super sweet for cooking. They can be eaten through it's three ripening stages, providing a different flavour experience at each stage. Here is how the Kumato® can be used at its three ripening stages.
Stage 1 - Green: Firm, flavourful and slices beautifully. Perfect for salads and sandwiches.
Stage 2 - Brown with hints of green: Dubbed its ideal eating stage with a more robust flavour. Ideal for stuffing, pan roasting, sauces, chutneys and soups.
Stage 3 - Deep brown and dark red: Soft, juicy and a mild flavour. Best for cooking.

Althoough the supermarket placed the Kumato with other tomatoes, other than the price tag, I could find no information that told me that it was a tomato. It is possible that the tag covered this information. Initialy, I thought it was a plum! Suggest you label the packaging with Tomato promiantly featured.
